The Arty Farty template pack
2 x A4 white pearlescent card stock
1 sheet A3 white card
Big Shot
Sizzix Texturz texture plates starter pack
1 sheet of clear acetate
Border peel off's
Embellishments to suit
Ribbon
PVA glue
Double sided tape
Scissors, craft knife, cutting mat

Step 1

Carefully cut out the templates from the pack. Following the instructions for the cake draw around on pearlescent card stock. It is easier to do the score lines before cutting out. Rather than using pencil some crafters will often use a fairly fine embossing tool. If a pencil is used, erase any pencil marks left on the templates.

Step 2

Once all of the pieces are cut out, I have taken them and embossed them with the hearts texture plate in the Big Shot, this does show up well on pearl card and I thought it appropriate to a wedding cake.

I have textured the three main cut outs making sure that the top and sides are embossed.

Step 3

Glue the boxes into shape making sure that they are all square. Decorate according to the theme of the 'cake'. I have gone with faux pearl embellishments for a wedding and pale flowers on the top. I have attached these using silicone glue.

While this is drying, cut out and decorate the box. The box is cut from A3 card and embellished before assembly with peel off's and gemstone hearts. Using adhesive of choice assemble the box.

Step 4

The acetate is added also before assembly.

Once glued together it should look like this

Once all of the adhesives are dry, place the three boxes together to resemble a 3 tier cake using 1mm foam pads in between

Step 6

Place the cake inside the presentation box and add a ribbon to finish it off.

Golden Wedding 'Cake'

To make the Golden Wedding cake I followed the same instructions as above but used Gold Pearlescent Card, peel off's and embellishments

This shows the project fully assembled. For this one I have made the presentation box out of acetate.
