Happy Spring
Here is a fun card that can be adapted to many occasions. Change the colours, use different die cuts and you can have an Easter card, an Anniversary card, a birthday card and so on.
Hope you enjoy making it!

Step 1
Score your white 12.5 x 24 cms piece of cardstock at 11.5 and 12.5 cms from the edge and fold to form a spine.
Cut a sheet of decorative paper 12.5 x 14 cms and score in the same way.
Attach this to the front of the card with double sided tape or glue. The scored lines will enable the paper to fold over the back of the card neatly for a tidy finish.
Using a corner rounder punch or scissors, round the bottom corners of the card.
Step 2
Cut five octagons from your coloured cardstock - 3 in the darker shade and 2 in the lighter shade.
Score and fold these centrally.
Mark the centre point on the fold and measure 1/2cm on either side of the centre mark and 1cm down from the fold.
Cut the two vertical lines and score the horizontal line. Push in the cut shape and fold inside the octagon. This will form your pop-out platform.
Step 3
Repeat this process for all five octagons.
Step 4
Cut five 1 1/4' circles - 2 from the darker cardstock and 3 from the lighter. Gently scuff the edges if your card has a white core to add interest.
Step 5
Using the Sizzix butterfly strip, cut 1 strip in the darker colour, 1 in the lighter colour and 1 in silver mirri card.
Keep the section of three butterflies in the mirri card to decorate the front of your card.
Separate the other butterflies and use 3 in the dark cs and 2 in the lighter cs. Glue these to their mirri counterparts off setting them slightly again to add interest.
Step 6
Attach the plain circles to the pop up section in each octagon. Use alternate colours - e.g. dark octagon, light circle.
Glue the single butterflies to the circles again alternating the colours so that they stand out from the background.
Step 7
Take the first octagon and glue one side to the front of your card close to the first fold.
Glue the next octagon to the first, matching up the edges and continue gluing the octagons together until you reach the last one. Glue the remaining flap to the back of the card as close to the 2nd fold line as possible.
Using 3D foam pads, attach the group of three silver butterflies to the front of the card near the top.
Step 8
Cut a 3 x 29.5 cm wide strip of white cardstock. Scallop the edges either with decorative scissors or use a Rotatrim. Cut a length of the lighter cardstock colour 2 x 29.5 cms and apply centrally to the scalloped border.
Wrap around the card making the closure at the front. Allow for a 2cm overlap and trim any excess. Glue the overlap together.
Punch a 2' scallop circle from the darker cardstock and a 1 1/4' plain circle from the lighter cardstock.
Generate your greeting either using your computer, a rub-on or peel off and apply to the decorative band, covering the join.
Slip the band over the card and you are finished.
