Exploding Box with a difference
This project is assembled in a similar way to the other exploding box but with a variation to make it look like a basket when opened. Could be ideal for Easter as small chocolate eggs could be placed inside.

step 1
In the same way as the previous exploding box, draw or score around the two square box templates and lid but this time instead of cutting the card out to make a 'cross' cut into a square on both pieces
Step 2
Now cut across the top of the four extra squares that would have been discarded on a normal exploding box but scoring from the outside tip to the corner of the inner square before doing so.
I hope this picture is explanitory. You can also see where I have scored all the other fold lines.
Step 3
Do the same process on the inner square and scoring all folds.
Score the lid where the folds are.
If you have used pencil, then using an eraser, remove all pencil lines.
Step 4
Mat and layer as on the previous exploding box using either the off cuts or a contrasting colour. I have also used gold mirri card.
Do the same on both layers.
I have also used a hole punch in two sizes to make a random decorative pattern in between the box 'sides'.
Once this is done carefully fold inwards down the score line as the picture shows.

Step 5
Using the flower layer die cut enough of all the flower shapes to make a large flower for the top of the box. I have done about 3 layers each of the three sizes on the die using different materials - angel hair, vellum and a patterned paper and a couple of flowers from the daisy punch for the centre. All held together with a little glue and a large brad.
For the larger flowers inside I have used the smallest flower die again using 3 different textured papers and a daisy punch flower for the centre. These are assembled the same way as the large one and held together with a brad.
The smallest daisies are from the X-cut punch using a patterend paper and vellum, just one layer of each again held together with a brad. I have made enough of these so that there are a few in the centre of the box.
I have also added a bit of glitter glue to the vellum punch and die cut flowers to curl slightly.

Step 6
In the same way as in the previous box, assemble and glue the large flowers to the large squares and the smaller ones to the small squares.
Add the largest multi layered flower to the lid of the box, with a contrasting ribbon around the edge and a bow on the top.
Finally
Making four more smaller flowers as made previously for the inside larger layer, add to the outside of the box for decoration.
This picture shows a close up of the inside of the box.
