Step 1
Take your 15cm square white card and cover the front with a sheet of 15 x 15cm paper from the K & Co. 'Roam' pad. I chose the striped paper.
Step Two
Cut a piece of white cardstock 11.5 x11.5cm and texturise with the Sizzix 'Dashes' texture plate. You will need the Big Shot for this step and the instructions for the 'sandwich' are on the pack the plates come in.
Using your chalks lightly colour the textured paper with green and blue using a cotton wool ball. Remember to tap off any excess chalk before you colour the paper. You can always add more colour if necessary.
Cut the top corners of the paper with your Fiskars decorative corner scissors. Attach to the front of your card.
Step 3
Cut all the relevant die cuts you will need for your project.
Dog
Dog's nose
Dog collar
Dog disc in silver mirri
Dog toy
Ball
Grass - in two shades of green
Take the dog die cut and shade with chalks or colour medium of your choice. Add colour to the collar and the ball if required.
Step 4
Place the dog's nose into position and glue a small piece of black cardstock to the back of the die cut for the eyes. I used a glossy card but you could always use a Sakura clear gel pen for a similar effect.
Step 5
Apply the lighter coloured green grass to the darker one slightly offsetting it to give the impression of a shadow. Glue along the straight edge only and leave the 'leaves' unstuck so that you can place the dog into the grass later on.
Add highlights to the grass with a Sakura white gel pen. Lay the grass onto the textured paper and decide how far across the card you would like it to go. I chose 7.5 cms to allow for the ball and the toy die cuts to be placed on the bottom left hand corner.
Step 6
Cut two circles using your punches. The larger scalloped circle was cut from the brown paper in the 'Roam' pack and the smaller plain circle from white cardstock.
Using your computer, a peel off or rub - on place your greeting on the white circle.
Ink the edge of the circle with brown chalk ink and glue to the brown one.
Using 3D foam pads adhere the greeting to the top left hand corner of your card.
Gently shape the dog die cut and using 3D foam pads adhere it to the card. Place the ball die cut in the same way at the edge of the grass.
Step 7
Finally, add a little colour using your markers to the dog toy, highlight with Sakura white gel pen and adhere the toy to the bottom left hand corner of the card.
The greeting on the card reads 'Sorry to hear you're feeling 'ruff'
I'm sure there are many other cute sentiments you could use with this very appealing wee dog. Hope you enjoy making this one!
