Mother's Day Card
Although I have named this card Mother's Day, it could be used equally for a birthday

Material and Equipment
For this you will need
A4 sheet of white card or pre scored C5 card
Border and corner peeloff's
Adhesive Gems
Background paper
Vellum
Mirri Card for layering
Big Brad
Clear embossing powder
Lollipop and Paper Sculpting Daisy Sizzix dies
Double sided tape
Mountboard
Equipment:
Big Shot, Heat Gun, Tweezers, Craft knife, Ruler, Cutting Mat, Heat resistant surfact
Step 1
Cut an aperture in the centre of the front of the card measuring 9.5cm x 12.5cm
Step 2
Decorate the card around the edge of the aperture, for this I have used a velvet rick rack ribbon secured on with narrow double sided tape. Add corner peeloff's to the corners of the main card
Taking the cut out centre of the aperture, mat an layer with silver mirri card and a backing paper on top.
Step 3
Using the Big shot and Daisy Die and alphabet letters MUM cut out the large daisy and the letters from mountboard.
Using the same dies, repeat the same by using the same backing paper on the layered on the card. Cut a large daisy from vellum a contrasting coloured vellum and a smaller daisy with another contrasting colour of vellum.
Cover the mountboard shapes with a dry adhesive a tape runner is ideal making sure that the whole of the mountboard is covered. Alternatively, if you have a sticker maker, then run the paper shaped through with the adhesive on the reverse side and carefully stick to the mountboard making sure that it is exact.
Triple emboss the covered mountboard shapes* Layer the daisy with a large vellum shape, the mountboard shape and the smaller daisy shape on top. Secure together with a co-ordinating large brad.

Step 4
Cut a strip of card measuring 15.5 cm
Score lines 2.5cm in from one end and turning it around, another line 2.5cm in, and another 5cm from edge.
Step 5
Take the C5 card with the aperture and secure the strip of card half way down the aperture inside the border so that the strip now falls across the aperture on the inside.
Step 6
Add a piece of double sided tape to the other end of the strip of card in the first 2.5 scored block.
Step 7
Fold the strip under at the second score line. Close the front of the card so that the strip lies flat inside the card and stick down on the first 2.5 cm block.
When the front of the card is opened, the strip of card should stand up
Step 8
Taking the assembled flower, attach a couple of foam pads to the back remembering to leave half the flower with no adhesive
Step 9
Using double sided tape, attach the inner aperture which has been decorated onto the the protruding strip inside. This should be central to the opening on the outside of the card.
Step 10
Taking the daisy embellishment, attach to the inside card with the foam pads on the inner part so that the 'frame' on the outside is free. Then attach the word MUM down the side.
Add any further embellishments or peeloff's as required.

*Triple embossing.
To triple emboss the mountboard in this project you will need clear embossing powder, clear ink pad, heat gun, tweezers and a heat resistant surface to work on. Taking the covered mountboard shape, cover with the clear pad - I have used versamark. Cover the piece with clear embossing powder and heat until the powder has melted. While the powder is still molten, quickly cover again with clear embossing powder and heat. Repeat the last stage again. This will give a raised almost enamelled finish to the piece.
If the projects cools before it is covered with powder then it will not stick. Just re-heat the piece and apply.
Word of warning, the molten embossing powder is extremely hot and will burn and stick to your hand. Always use tweezers when moving a hot piece of embossing and leave to cool before touching. Always leave the hot piece to cool after the third coat is applied before moving it. Use a heat resistant surfact to do this on. A teflon baking sheet is ideal or an unused tile or glass chopping board. Do not use your cutting mat.
